My Butterfly Poem
As I wandered through those e-mail we sent,
Amongst all those letters we read,
I can't stop thinking of you,
I wrap my arms carefully around you,
and now you can pretend that I'm there.
No matter how soft I was, I bruised you,
not knowing the damage, the song in my heart grew.
You were caged in by my grip, and you started to worry,
you started to cry, and your vision got blurry.
Starting to realize you were meant to fly,
your spirit slowly became alive,
you knew it was wrong, and you flew away.
Now that you have released my grip,
you don't know where you're flying,
Your wings could only fly as my grip would allow,
what a trip it has been, but now we must go.
As I watched you go, my grip now broken,
my heart started to swell, with emotions,
and with a big cry, you left my sight,
with much love and mixed emotions.
Soon you will be gone, but you are also are My Butterfly
